Wikimedia Commons (or simply Commons) is the largest online repository of free-use images, sound and other media files. When you or your students need free to use images this is the site you'll want to check out.
allison robertson I recently learned how easy it is to add text to a photo using picnik. By adding text onto an image from wikimedia, I now have a visual (the photo) and prompt(the added text) that I can display on the projector at one time as a story starter or warm up.
What a great source for finding pictures. This would work well for students when they are creating iMovies or other projects in social studies that need visuals. Especially in Texas History when we introduce the regions, the pictures could be used to make a brochure of a region.
I am always looking for free to use images! This is an awesome site. I will use the images when making Prezi's and other presentations for my class. I can also have students use this site for their projects. Jerilyn Cleere
