I've been working with various BISD staff members that have been using an iPad for some time now. In doing so, I realized that most were still using Safari to browse out to Google.com to do their searches in Google. So, that convinced me that this weeks "Free App Friday" feature should be the Google Search App. This app has been completely redesigned for the iPad and has exclusive search features that make searching faster and easier.
- Voice Search: Search by voice and skip the typing.
- Side by Side Search Results: Quickly browse pages and results
- Google Instant: Shows results as you type so you can get to the right content much faster.
- Visual Search History: Swipe to revisit past searches
- Access to Google Apps: Quick, easy access to your Google Calendar and Docs
- Search Nearby: Find places nearby without having to type in your location.
Wow, I didn't know this app was available. That will be much simpler for my students when searching for information on the iPads. It will also work very well for my students who have trouble with the typing aspect of using the iPad.
