Museum Box
This site provides the tools for you to build up an argument or description of an event, person or historical period by placing items in a virtual box. What items, for example, would you put in a box to describe your life; the life of a Victorian Servant or Roman soldier; or to show that slavery was wrong and unnecessary? You can display anything from a text file to a movie. You can also view and comment on the museum boxes submitted by others.

This would be a great app for me to introduce a subject. I could have the students categorize information and it is also another form of visual learning.
ReplyDeleteThis would be a great resource for an Art History Timeline. I would have the categories preset to the categories art students are learning about for the U.I.L. Art History test. The following categories were used this year: Prehistoric, Renaissance, Baroque, Impressionism, Pointillism, Fauvism, Cubism, Abstract Expressionism, and Pop Art. Students would research video clips in iTunes U to place in each category to help clarify what "made" that particular Art period.
ReplyDeleteI started typing an art timeline in the Museum Boxes. I spent an hour, when I tried to save it told me I had to sign-up. I signed up but the site said I wouldn't be approved for 24 hours or more. I hope I didn't loose everything.
ReplyDeleteI am always looking for recording programs to encourage students to speak out loud in Spanish. This user friendly program allows student to record short movies! I would pack suitcase, medicine chests or what ever vocabulary is up next!

This looks like an interesting tool for students when creating a project over a subject. I plan to look through the site more and see how to make it fit in Texas History.
